Migration target
Migrate VB6 to TypeScript, batch by batch.
TypeScript is the pick for teams moving VB6 business logic toward a modern web stack rather than another desktop or COM-adjacent runtime. UnspoolCode translates out of the same dependency graph it uses for analysis — in dependency order, with every low-confidence translation routed through a review queue before it ships.

01Why TypeScript
Why teams pick TypeScript over a from-scratch rewrite
Off the Windows desktop
If the endgame is a web app rather than another native/COM runtime, TypeScript is the more direct target than C#.
Typed, not just transliterated
Translation runs against the resolved dependency graph, not a blind line-by-line pass — the same graph that powers impact analysis and dead-code detection.
"Just rewrite it" dies in committee
Nobody can prove a ground-up rewrite behaves like the original before cutover. Batch translation out of the real dependency graph gives you something to verify against, unit by unit.
02How it works
Snapshot, translate, shim, verify, mark, done — per unit
draft_plan computes migration units and their dependency order from the graph, thenbatch_start runs them through a scheduler that resumes cleanly after a restart. Every low-confidence translation routes through a review queue — approve it, reject it, or submit your own — before it can pass verify. Destructive edits sit behind an explicit preview-then-confirm step; direct writes are hash-checked against the last-read source to catch anything stale.
03Scope
Review before you ship it
Every translation is a starting point for your own review, not a drop-in replacement you deploy unread. Review every finding, every generated graph edge, and every line of generated code against your own engineering judgement and testing before relying on it in production. Need COM interop instead of a clean break from the Windows desktop? See VB6 to C#. For the full advisory, see the terms of service.
